Healing Relationships, by Megan Kaun

Welcome to my class on healing relationships! In this practice, we will apply Zhineng Qigong theory and methods to heal the parts of our relationships that keep us stuck. All healing at its core level is a change in perspective. This practice has the potential to allow us to experience and interact with the people around us in an entirely new way. This can be especially powerful when applied to close relationships that have been a struggle for a long time.

Introduction

Everything in the universe is made up of energy or qi (pronounced "chi".) The qi of physical items is dense. The qi of things like emotions or stories is more fine. When the qi of something is allowed to flow freely in a harmonious fashion, we feel healthy, beautiful, happy, and peaceful unconditionally, no matter what.

When the qi in a relationship is stuck, we feel things like anger, jealousy, and sadness. These feelings are often difficult to ignore. They are also valuable clues and gifts. Relationships can function as the most potent place to identify stuck energy patterns or fixations in our own bodies. Healing relationships means healing for ourselves.

When we are fixated or attached to something, the free flow of qi is blocked. We can be attached to something "negative", like how our mom never seems to approve of us. We can also be attached to something "positive", like how much we love our boyfriend...and hope he never leaves us. In both examples, we are attached to a particular outcome (something changing or something never changing), and this attachment blocks qi. â€‹

Though the feeling of stuck qi in a relationship can feel "bad",  opening the energy up and allowing it to flow again always leads to a feeling of expansiveness, even bliss. The more sticky a blocked relationship pattern is, the more potential there is for a life altering transformation.

In healing relationships we are focused primarily on healing ourselves by changing the stories we hold about the other person. The emphasis is not on changing the other person. However, when we change how we naturally feel and react to another person, surprising changes can occur around how the other person feels and acts around us. We are all deeply connected and one small change in the system will change the whole.

The method in this Healing Relationships class is more than a simple relaxation or nervous system regulation technique. You will first be guided through a practice to awaken your inner observer, also known as your pure consciousness, your I AM, your inner divinity, or your pure baby heart. The seat of your inner observer or pure consciousness is the Shenji Palace, located in the center of the head. Awakening the inner observer allows for healing to occur in the information or quantum realm, meaning that transformations can occur instantly and effortlessly.

I recommend practicing this method on less challenging relationships issues at first. Once you are familiar with the process, it will be possible for you to apply this simple technique to any relationship challenge.

In this introduction video, I teach a physical method for breaking up dense and stuck blockages called "Heng Ha". I recommend practicing "Heng Ha" 10 times before settling into the healing  meditation exercise. This will help remove the larger energetic barriers so that the consciousness healing will be more effective.

In this practice, your main job is to RELAX. I will guide you through the exercise and hold the container. It is OK to fall into a half-sleep or even full-sleep state. You will still receive the full benefits! Find a comfortable place where you can be undisturbed for about 25 minutes.

Feel free to can come back to this practice as often as needed. It may be necessary to revisit the practice several times for particularly challenging relationships. In the beginning, I recommend following along with the recording when practicing this method. This is because you will receive the high level consciousness healing more fully if you can connect with my voice. Eventually, you will have the ability to practice this method on your own. Someday you might even feel confident enough to walk others through it! When we heal ourselves through challenging experiences, we become powerful healers for others.

YouTube and audio versions of the meditation are below.

Integration

I would like to offer a few words of integration following your experience with this healing practice.

It is important to understand that it is not necessary for you to understand the mechanics behind â€‹this practice to receive the full benefits. In some ways, allowing yourself to detach from logical understanding and just experience the practice will allow you to receive the healing in a deeper way. The most important part of this practice is to RELAX. When we relax, we allow the harmonious healing energy of the universe move through us and do its job according to the wisdom of the tao.

I would, however, like to provide some context on alchemical healing. Alchemy is the transformation of matter. For our purposes, "matter" can be considered aspects of your physical body, your emotions, or even the stories you tell yourself. In truth, these are all connected and impossible to separate from one another. All healing, including healing with a mainstream doctor or healing with a consciousness healer, involves alchemy. A mainstream doctor puts their primary focus on the physical body. A consciousness healer focuses primarily in the information realm, where beliefs and stories reside.

Alchemy always involves a container, an item to be transformed, and energy. In our relationship healing practice, the container is our attention or "inner observer", the item is our relationship, and the energy comes from universal qi. It is important that our container is strong and solid. If our attention wanes, the container will leak. According to Zhineng Qigong theory, activating Shenji Palace, the energy center at the center of our head, both awakens our inner observer and activates the free flow of universal qi into our bodies. When we chant "shenji" we are strengthening both the container and the energy available for healing.

Following this healing exercise, you may see your situation in a new way or have insights that feel like they defy conventional logic. That is OK and normal. My advice is to hold this information lightly without judgement or attachment. Notice how this information changes how you feel in your body. If this information leads to feelings of love, peace, and compassion, know that you are on the right track!

In some ways of understanding our reality, it can be said that everything on the outside is a reflection of what is within. In other words, we create our own reality. Once we have the capacity to accept and allow something unconditionally, it is then free to change through the alchemical practice. "What we resist persists".

This framework provides you with the power to heal your relationships. You don't need anything from anyone else: you don't need to have a conversation, you don't need anyone to give you an apology, and you don't need anyone to admit fault. Since we're working in the consciousness realm beyond time and space, it doesn't even matter if the person is still alive! When you operate under the assumption that someone else needs to do something for a relationship to be healed, you give the other person your power. In truth, whatever is blocking the free flow energy in your relationship is not about them.

When we accept responsibility in a relationship, we are free to change our perception and understanding of what's going on. We are free to detach from the stuck energy feeling and the story we created to explain it. We are free to allow our energy to flow. We are free to feel love, peace, happiness and gratitude unconditionally. This is how we step into the zone of healing. â€‹
