"It is as if a fan of feathers covers the face, obscuring the self. This year, the feathers fall one by one

 

Gather a feather, it is a quill pen. Dip into ancient oak gall ink, write the letter in script, to your future self. The letter signed with the fire of your heart, then rolled and sealed in beeswax. Give the letter to the winged messenger who flies between worlds. 

 

It is a letter that sends us on our journey. An invitation to mend something old.

 

This year is like several lifetimes, shapeshifting, changing roles, trading identities. Follow the thread of the coiled road led by the twin orbs, the sun and the moon. 

 

A pilgrimage. Like snakes, bellies close to the Earth, staying low, low as we follow the path that winds to the highest peak. The Holy Mountain. We gain perspective. We view our ancient past. We see the full picture, the parts that were lost. Our lost, brilliant sons.

 

What seemed like freedom in the past, now constrains, overprotective, like a large indoor shopping center, the thick walls and ceilings are now noticeable, the rules, the tradeoffs (security for self expression.) 

 

What we seek is more of a feeling than a structure. The feeling of suspending like a ballerina on tiptoe dancing on pointe, spinning, spinning in response to the adoration of the golden light, the sun of creation. Let the feeling invoked from this image wash through you now. Memorize this feeling. This is your golden thread. 

 

Venture into the welcoming dark, through narrow passageways, alleyways, taking risks, for a new freedom. The grass is green on the other side of the fence; blood drips down the barbed wire.

 

At summer’s end, we may see challenging images, witness disturbing things. What was hidden behind walls needs to be seen. This is a time to witness, to see, but not a time to react or judge. There is so much we don’t understand. Be like a photographer documenting, witnessing, accepting. 

 

The wolves howl; let the wild predator do its job, eat and kill. It’s not personal. 

 

Take stock, take responsibility. Your guides will find you. Trustworthy. The wolves turn to dogs.

 

At the far shore of a vast lake, mist creeps over the water’s edge. Standing in this in-between time, we can feel all that we've left behind and what the future may hold. The lady of the lake beckons, the ancestors are at our back. Venturing into the void, we experience a sea change crossing the great waters to the east. Navigating in our rudderless boat, following the golden thread, pulling ourselves ever closer to our destinies, hand over hand…

 

Guided by the coiled serpentine paths of the sun…and the moon. Trusting the spiraling path, through the light and the dark. The twining snakes. Coiled, merging, dreaming us back home. Dreaming us back to our original blueprint, Dreaming our DNA. Marrying the opposites opens the narrow path.

 

On the other side, the twin snakes turn to into twin horses, shimmering brown and green, vitality and life force. The container of clay and the green shoot. 

 

Fern, feathers, mercury, movement. 

 

We come here to recover what was lost, to recover the tools of our trade and our memories of how to use them; these tools of commerce and negotiation, exchange and reciprocity, empowerment and balance. 

 

We come here to pardon the ancestors, those put on trial, those from whom these tools were taken, in the now distant past.

 

We come here to recover…our personal roles and responsibilities

We come here to recover...The ways of blessing and benediction

We come here to recover...the way back to our personal thrones. 

 

The old ways…that become the new. 

 

2026 will leave us with…

 

A greater sense of self

 

And the basic Form, Energy, and Structure…for peace."
